I wanted to write real quick about the issues with itunes and downloading the podcast.
There are a few separate issues that can be causing a problem with you downloading the podcast (or any podcast for that matter). I am going to number them in order of what the issue usually is and the fix for it. If these things don’t solve the problem then it is beyond my scope of understanding and an actual itunes issue.
Possible Solution #1 – Unsubscribe and subscribe again.
Possible Solution #2 – Go in to your itunes download folder. Locate the incomplete files that you have downloaded and remove them completely. Then unsubscribe and re-subscribe to download the files again. Sometimes you may need to restart your computer first.
Possible Solution #3 – There is a problem within the actual itunes software and you need to uninstall and reinstall the application making sure to create a fresh folder for downloads.
Why did this happen?
Well it happens to even the best of itunes podcasters and movie/music files that are downloaded. That being said I can help lessen this by becoming part of a CDN system for download. In non fancy terms I pay more money and you get the podcast faster. The faster you get it and the more areas that people can download it means less time out issues. Right now with almost 2000+ downloads a podcast sometimes it is a case of one file and too many people.
I hope this will fix the issues. If you have already downloaded the files and it is on your computer nothing will change but you may see a “!” pop up on older episodes. This is because the files online are going to be in a new location. If you need to download an older episode then you will need to re-subscribe.
In the future I will attach this help guide to the podcast posts.
