As much as I love working with people in person, I discovered I enjoy helping people out all over the world. I have provided training and consults from Alaska to Australia. While there is debate with many on whether or not distance is as effective, I can say for certain you can do amazing things from a distance. Some clients even ended up flying out to meet in person. If you are interested in being one of those people, please keep reading. Continue Reading…

Low carb/high protein tortillas are disgusting

Not only do they taste like glue, they are full of wheat gluten. This is what gives it the extra protein and texture. While and am not  an alarmist, even that amount of gluten isn’t healthy for people guts. Instead of trying to eat “healthy” using most low carb foods, you would be better off with the white flour tortilla. The best low carb food, is whole food. The best benefit is it doesn’t taste like ass. Continue Reading…

4/2/2 Cardio Routine – Freestyle

This is a workout post for members only. If interested in being a member simply click the read more link and it will give you more information. This post includes a workout and log download.

Yesterday, I discussed the differences in training suspension systems and provided you with options and views of different systems. Today, I am going to keep it simple with one of my new favorite cardio routines using the suspension trainer. If you want to get a suspension trainer, check out this blog post here for more information.

4/2/2 Freestyle Routine

I have a hardtime doing the same thing over and over again. Because of this, you aren’t going to find me on a treadmill, swimming laps, or anything that requires repetitive movements. Instead, I like to break up my cardio routines into timed multiple movements. I like to progress from movement to movement in 60 sec patterns. It is simple, effective, and challenging. The best part is you never get bored and the workout passes quickly without losing intensity.  Cardio can actually become your favorite workout, instead of your dreaded one. Continue Reading…

Which Suspension Trainer is Right For You?

I have to admit, I don’t want to appear to be hopping onto a fad just because. The basic truth is, I love training toys. My training method, by nature, is geared more to body weight, band, and the local jungle gym than squat racks. I think there is a way to incorporate it all if you want to. The purpose of this article is to answer the following question, what system and price range is right for you? I decided the best thing for me to do was try out a few types of suspended trainers and see what I came up with. Continue Reading…

A Different Body Composition Book Club

Sometimes the best books you can read on a subject, are not technically about the subject. Everyday I try to read something to inspire me to forgo standing in my own way. It’s a great day when the right quote or message can make you laugh at how melodramatic this all seems. Having the body you want is rarely as simple as “eat less, move more.” Let’s be honest, it is never that simple.

These are some of my favorite books that make me feel stupid, in the best of ways. Continue Reading…

The above recipe is one of my favorites from the Breakfast of Champions cookbook. It utilizes two of my favorite cooking techniques. Poaching and Blanching. When it comes to eating and trying to achieve the least caloric intake, these techniques are perfect. Both utilizing water; not oil and both bring the color and flavor of your food to life. It is tricks and techniques like this that take your diet food from cardboard to gourmet.

Request For Readers

I have received a tremendous response from the Body Fat Picture article on wanting more examples.  You would be surprised how hard it is to come by people standing in a relaxed position for these types of photos. I can’t simply take them from the internet randomly (however tempted). The solution? If you so desire, send a front and back picture to trainer @ avidityfitness.net. Here are the specifications.
