Fun blog today Leigh. I’m a happily married lady with 2 kids, but the dating advice brought back memories. I’m really enjoying your podcasts. I’ve learned some great thingds lately. I especially loved the info about why my muscles look flat while dieting down. It’s great to know that eating a little bit of carbs will “bring the flex back” and I haven’t actually lost muscle mass. I also love the information you gave the woman who is going to India, ie. she won’t lose her muscle if she takes 6 weeks off, but if she wants to keep working out she can accomplish a lot by doing body weight conditioning. I am having a hard time making it to the gym now that my kids are home from school for the summer. I went online and found a great body weight routine on youtube. I had a blast with it and I feel like I’m not losing ground. Thanks again. Keep the information coming!!!
Leigh you are awesome! I promise I will use it, thank you SOOO much for answering my question. I will let you know what happens.
cant wait to listen!!!
My laughed so hard on the ex question. I tried to be friends with my ex so that we might have a chance of getting back together and it was such a bad idea. We aren’t friends anymore and I too think it is funny to look back and think of the fact we dated.
Good pick up tips too! I might have to try that myself. That is a good question, can girls ask guys out, really?
Women tell guys to ask them out, with those “subtle” hair flips, pats on the shoulder, etc.
They just make the guy think it was his idea.
This was awesome. Ex stuff was hilarious.
Good grief, Leigh – you SO need your own XM or Sirius channel!!!!
Loved the advice on how to get the headphone girl! I know it will work!! I love all of your podcasts – they are so real and down to earth. Real advice that is genuine – that is you!!
Nice advice there, but I think I’m going to stick with jiggling my moobs at attractive ladies wearing headphones. It hasn’t worked yet, but it’s surely only a matter of time.
Out of town and haven’t had a chance to listen yet, but I’m intrigued already!
Love your comment, Mike! So true!
Loved it Leigh.
Leigh,
I’m interested in the higher intake (same deficit) v lower intake (same deficit) and resulting fat loss. I think Berardi’s “G-flux” concept atempts to address this; however, he finds the opposite result, i.e. the more expenditure (even with the same deficit) results in “better” body recompsition.
I’d like to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks.
I loved the “how low can you go” section — very interesting! Definitely new information there.
Now, I’m married (going on 11 years now!), so maybe my opinion doesn’t count anymore
, but I thought I would respond to your flirting advice. If I was still single, I would be most interested in a guy who complimented my workout — like “I see you here every week — how do you stay so dedicated?” or else “That’s a great deadlift — how long have you been lifting?” or even “You’re very fit, how did you design your program?”. I guess this reflects on my personality — my taste in music is not all that mainstream, so for some guy to ask me about my music tastes and then tease me for not adhering to mainstream tastes would be very tiresome indeed. Same with movies and TV. My point is, at least with working out, you know you share a common ground — you’re both at the gym working out!
I totally agree with the ex thing though — if you stay friends, then friends it is, and never again as “more”.
Loved this podcast. Good advice about the flirting, too, though I think that asking about the headphones would be a good intro (“what kind of headphones do you use? I’m in the market for a new pair…”)
