Question - Have you ever had that moment during a workout where you move the wrong way and you had that “Oh S**t” moment? The moment where you freeze like a deer in headlights because you think not moving again is somehow going to save you from the mistake you just made with your body?

If you can’t tell I have been victim of that moment. I have also been victim of the moment where I hurt myself to the point of fearing not being able to do the things I love again. Worse than feeling this way, is knowing it is your fault you got hurt. Knowing had you just taken the proper precautions with your personal training, or even the training of other clients, pain and heartache can be avoided.

When it comes to my clients I am overly protective. With myself I push the limits of my body and sometimes sanity. I now the have the battle scars to prove it. For example, I love dancing, some of your may know that.  I sustained to my ankle, an injury I believe could have been avoided. I am in pain everyday and when I try do something I love sometimes I can’t do it fully. I sometimes have moments where my weak parts give out on me, even with the best of intentions now. All of this is because I  neglected the importance of warming up, stretching, tissue work, and proper strengthening exercises.

The reason I shared all the above with you is because a program, Assess and Correct,  that Mike Robertson, Eric Cressey, and Bill Hartman are offering is a solution. It is a solution to problems you may have, or a solution to prevention you need. This isn’t just an athlete or trainer based product.

Assess and Correct, the quick and easy

What you get:

DVD #1: A comprehensive guide to self-assessment.
DVD #2: An individualized corrective exercise progression
Bonus #1: The Assess and Correct Assessment E-Manual, which is a guide you can refer to in conjunction with the first video.
Bonus #2: The Assess and Correct E-Manual, which includes written cues and photos for each recommended drill in the 2nd video.
Bonus #3: “The Great Eight Static Stretches” E-Manual, which shows you eight additional flexibility drills they use on a regular basis in addition to the drills featured in the DVDs.
Bonus #4: The “Optimal Self Myofascial Release” E-Manual, which shows you the soft tissue methods and techniques we use with our clients and athletes.
Bonus #5: “Warm-ups for Every Body” E-Manual, which is a collection of two sample warm-up templates for each of the following sports/scenarios:

Personally, I think the assessment portion is the true goldmine. In my opinion, I think this is what some certifications are trying to pull off when discussing assessments and corrective work, but don’t.

The Dvds

I have not received the DVD yet, I have only received copies of all the manuals and seen footage collections of what is on the Dvd’s. Here is an example – Wall Hip Flex

As you can see the quality is very good and instructions are easy to follow. I have seen all the exercises that are performed and the all other material. I am inclined to believe the rest will be like this. Still, I haven’t seen it so I wanted to put it out there.

The big question #1 – If I have Magnificent Mobility, do I need this?

I think this is an honest question. You get more variety in Asses and Correct. More importantly, you get more instruction and discussion on how to put things together better. I feel like Mag Mobility was more a “stock” of movements and this goes into a be more critical thinking work and the variables of a situation, which you know I like.

The big question #2 – Why should I spend that much money on it?

I know the cost is going to be a tough point for a lot of people. Here is how you need to rationalize it in your head.

If you pay for insurance, if you get yearly check ups, and if you care about looking like a hunch back stiff old man/woman at too young of an age, then this is for you. Invest in your body, it is the only one you have.

Again, I am not paid in anyway for this review.

I really do think this is a solid product with solid people behind it.
