If you are new to the blog, 8-weeks ago I launched a challenge for the members of Leighpeele.com. The results have been fantastic for just a matter of 8-weeks. At last count, all the members who entered have lost/kept off somewhere over 200lbs of fat and there have been some who goals were to gain muscle or other performance goals.

This doesn’t include all the members of the forum who are doing their own thing to. That is roughly 25 pounds per week of fat loss! This is also with a lot of members taking part in the Lean Being program 5-day refeed/hypertrophy stage – twice. Meaning there were 10 whole days (for some) members who weren’t even in a deficit at all.

This challenge and the support forums go way beyond fat loss. Some of the greatest accomplishments (most I would say) weren’t on the scale at all. I will take someone finally getting what it is all about to themselves over numbers any day of the week. I want to make sure nothing gets missed or looked past.

Enough about that…
Here is what they have to say:

“I’m inspired by all of you that were dedicated throughout the challenge.I look forward to see who ends up in the winners circle!”

“12 pounds!!!! I’m pretty thrilled…I have so enjoyed these TRX workouts–I’ve felt stronger and felt I got a great workout without killing myself.”

“I feel so grateful for the challenge, for this whole experience, without it I am scared to think of where I would be. I am so grateful to Leigh, my amazing partner and most importantly my husband who has always lovingly supported me in all of my goals and endeavors but has really gone above and beyond in supporting me and my roller derby aspirations. He is amazing, you are all inspiring and from the bottom of my heart I thank you all.”

“Many thanks to everyone for the encouragement and to Leigh for the challenge.”

“As far as meeting my goals, I believe i did so – I feel stronger and my runs have improved. I lost weight and became fitter and stronger.”

“I did it! I’m near the end of my fat loss phase and I knew the pounds would be coming off more slowly, but I still exceeded my goal and put myself tantalizingly close to my final goal of 130. I’m especially pleased with the difference in posture that I see.”

“I have definitely been eating a healthier diet with more vegetables. And frankly, the food I cook at home is usually much much better tasting than take-out.”

“Occasionally I find myself sitting in front of the computer with something snacky, but I always begin to feel full and STOP eating well before the bag of (whatever) is empty. And I think that is a really important first step.”

“Finally, I am realizing that the person I want to be exists inside of me. I just need to peel off a few more layers and I’m there.”

“Body wise, I’m at the lowest weight of my adult life, now having lost a total of 97 pounds. I ran my best 5K time recently. My overall performance in my workouts have definitely improved. I not only participated in a challenge, but I really challenged myself over the last 12 weeks and feel successful…In the end, I want to say thanks. Thanks to Leigh for putting together this great challenge and being a super-duper resource. And a great big thanks to this forum community for supporting me and everyone else along the way. Even if in your own world you’re doing this alone, you’re not alone in the forums. It’s been a great support…I’m looking forward to the next challenge!”

“I made my weight loss goal!!! I am so excited as I had a few slow weeks. Started off strongly, then my weight loss slowed down, and during the past couple of weeks it has sped up again. I have been fairly consistent with my calories, on checking Calorie King for the past two months my average has been around my goal of 1400 calories. I trusted the process, although some times I was tempted to drop calories I didn’t. The results paid off in the end…I absolutely loved this challenge! Thank you so much Leigh! I think I work much better being accountable. Having to check in definitely increases my motivation to do the right thing. I do feel however that my habits have changed over the course of the challenge. I am making much better choices in what I eat and do.”

“There were some days when I didn’t 100% stick to it. But having the boards and check-ins every 2 weeks made all the difference. Winning the TRX was an amazing push to stick with it. And I LOVE the TRX.”

“OPT taught me what a real deficit was and The Big Book of Exercises expanded my choices. But this one was the best because even when it was the last thing I wanted to do when I got home from work, I still did it and at the end, my last thought before falling asleep for the night was “I can’t wait to do it again tomorrow”

“I think I made strong progressions with my mobility and posture, however. I was very diligent with my mobility work, even during vacation and when friends were in town, and I’m much more conscious of having good posture when I walk and sit. I’m also noticing that even first thing in the morning, I’m better at getting out of bed and not slouching but instead keeping my shoulders back and core engaged.”

“I have loved being able to workout at home and know that the TRX will always be part of my workout toolbox. It has solved the problem of having to load up to go to gym and resulted in me getting to bed sooner at night. I also feel like I learned a lot about the cycle I need to be on for cutting and refeeds.”

“The nutritional aspect has been the best part for me. Somewhere in the first Month a light bulb came on and I finally got it through my head that dietary fat is a needed thing and it’s ok, not just ok but a necessary part of my diet. This may sound like a small thing but after years of cutting every bit of fat out I possibly could it’s really huge! And guess what, I didnt gain an ounce….go figure.”

“Thanks also to Leigh for putting the whole thing together and Katie especially for the videos showing how to do the exercises. I watched them literally dozens of times.” “Thank you Leigh for an awesome program and thank you Katie (love the videos)! And – this forum rocks – thanks everyone for being so totally true, helpful and encouraging.”

“I’m really happy with my results. I worked hard for this and I learned a lot through the process. I learned to buy less food and actually eat it instead of wasting it. I learned that I don’t have to go really high protein (like I used to do) when I’m dieting. I’m not afraid of carbs anymore. It’s easier for me to count calories and allow myself some treats. As long as I can eat my popcorn and a few pieces of chocolate at night with my boyfriend, I keep my sanity…My goal is to weigh less than 130 lbs for my trip in the Caribbean in October, so you can count me in for Leigh’s next challenge.”

“I read Fat Loss TroubleShoot 20 times, and each time found many, many practical insights into overcoming your natural instinct to maintain the status quo. Much of my 60-day challenge was spent learning how to apply these insights and finding others.”

“As for the training, I think my suspension trainer is going to be my permanent friend (I bought a USA from bodyweightculture.com rather than the TRX). Using it kind of reminds me of playgrounds and jungle gyms, even when you’re doing sets and reps. It works my core better than standard weights and relieves some of the pain in my lower back.”

“I know where I fell down, and I am much better at recognizing that when i fall down, I need to pick myself back up. Missteps aren’t the end of the diet and it’s never too soon to regather and plant yourself back on track.”

“That I still have a long road in front of me, but as I’m seeing in everyone’s results, it’s going to be worth it. When I was 225 pounds I thought that 170 would be incredible, and you know what, it was and I firmly believe that holding on to a 55 lb weight loss for 7 years is awesome. Now I’m ready for another 45+ lbs.”

“Thank you. To Leigh for starting these forums and the challenge, for Katie for helping take care of the little details, and to all the inspiration and positivity that everyone here exudes – even when they’re muttering about how much a deficit sucks. <3s to all of you. This really was the kick in the ass I needed this summer and I’m going to take what I’ve learned about myself and work on applying it more consistently.”

“AM in the 140′s! This is just thrilling. slowly slowly slowly the months pass, the weight loss seems negligible, … and then I’m packing for another out-of-town event, and my clothes are looser than the last event, and I’m 5 lbs slimmer and I’m happy and proud and leaner in my loose clothes, love to look in the mirror, feel so young and lean and fit.”

So, who are the final prize winners for the Lean Being Challenge and what were their results?

Only members can see the names of the winner. Name text is hidden to provide ultimate privacy.

#1 – (click here to see her final check in) went from 131.8 to 118.6! That is 13.2 pounds in 8-weeks on a small frame! Those are insane numbers to pull at that weight and take serious dedication. For even more perspective, that is 10.02% of total bodyweight and also the smallest she has ever been in her adult life. She also looks hot! She appears to have maintained her muscle fine and defined her look to the next level. She literally shrunk down into a new self.

Prizes- 1 TRX and the complete Body By Eats Collection.

#2- (click here to see her final check in) went from 169 to 155 for a total loss of 14 pounds! She dropped 8.28% of her total bodyweight. I have enjoyed reading her check-ins and all of her thoughts on the process especially her butter comment. She literally just filled out her wishlist in the hopes that she had a chance of winning. Sneaky, eh? I am glad she did because she is a winner. not only had success with her weight loss goals, she also changed her eating habits and figured out how to make everything work for her. We all know that can be one of the hardest parts.

Prizes- 1 $25 giftcard to Amazon to get a Gymboss interval timer and 1 phone consult with me to use when you wish.

#3- (click here to see his final check in) has lost a total of 14.3 pounds going from 191.7 to 177.4! His bodyweight dropped 7.46%! has been a part of every challenge we have done on the forums and he has preformed well in the past, but I am most impressed with his success on this challenge. He was diligent, consistent, and (obviously) successful. This makes two wins for him on this challenge alone.

Prizes- 1 $25 giftcard to Amazon to get the Ultimate Warrior Workouts and 1 phone consult with me to use when you wish.

#4- (click here to see her final check in) had one of the most inspirational check-ins on the forums to me. She learned so much from this challenge, not only about diet and health, but about herself. Reading her post moved not only me, but so many people. While Sienna may have not been “the biggest loser” she won herself back. Over all she has lost over 100 pounds but I think these last 4 were some of the most important ones. All pounds are not created equal.

Prize- 1 $30 gift card to Emerald City Skates, keep up the skating “Bunny the Wailer”
