Nice song! hows the rest of the album?
Aww.. sorry about the dancing not going quite so well. Bummer! You’ll get there though, maybe not as fast as you would like but it will happen.
Ok, so I’m about to let out some major dorkyness(did i even spell that right?) here– Are you watching out “So you think you can Dance”? I swear I just about cry every time I watch it. They are all so talented and truly amazing. Totally inspiring me to get back in a studio.
By the way, I’m really enjoying the new site and the posts.
RJ-I will admit, that is the shiny moment, but it still is worth the couple of bucks I paid for it.
Sarah-I DVR “So You Think You Can Dance, ABDC, and even “Dancing with the Stars.” By the way, Lil Kim was robbed.
I love to watch dancing in all arenas. For the past month when I sit down at night to eat some grub I am usually watching one of them. Their talents are amazing.
I keep them all taped so that I can learn different moves. You would be amazed how a lot of dancing is the same movements over and over, but just with your own personal flair ans style integrations.
I personally am more of a hip hop/bboy style but am trying to get into more contemporary, if not only for the need to gain more freedom of movement. It would force me to do it. In hip hop/bboy you can get by with being a little tighter but you can’t even in contemporary.
I don’t really know what I would ever do with it, but being that I am oblivious to the restriction of age, I say the possibilities are endless.
Leigh I can’t believe you like dancing with the stars! I really like the sites you linked.
What’s ABDC? America’s Best Dance Contest? When’s that on? I keep meaning to go track down Dance Your Ass Off, too…haven’t seen that, but I’m a big ‘ol reality tv junkie.
Love the informative post but I was sad not to see the clip of you dancing! I hope you didn’t hurt yourself again!
I am proud to say I am subscribed to all of those podcasts, I have read that Tom Venuto article, and I frequent those blogs ( which are great!)! As a matter of fact, I linked the Leigh article about NEAT from Brian St.Pierre’s site on Twitter, but I have only like 12 followers so I guess it did not get retweeted!! But the song was a new thing so it is all good!
And it is good not to be restricted by age!!
for some reason I pictured Leigh as more of a locker/popper
Memphis jookin’ for the win – freakin’ joint mobility monopolizin’ bastards…
I don’t even like to remember life without the DVR. I do the same thing, watch in total amazement as I chow on some good eats. For the top 20 going in, I already have a major crush on Tony and Evan.
You know, for some reason I never could get into the DWTS but I will take your word on the Little Kim thing.
You made me smile when you said you practice the moves. Ok, so I am not the only one with my sofa to the wall, dancing around. I am a total B-Bop girl at heart too(but you sound much more hard core and much more advanced). But for years years I have been really wanting to get into the contemporary and ballet. I have always loved to watch it but never thought it was possible to get into it because of my age. But funny thing is, now that I am getting older, I say screw age. Who cares?! A secret dream of mine is to get onto pointe.
Where do you show off your slick moves? Do you just bust em out at a club or do you belong to a dancing group? I ask because I have such a hard time with this. I have been seeking a good dance studio but have had no such luck fining anything that works. I’m 29 and they will either put me with the teenage group which is often too advanced and been dancing together for years. Or the adult group, which is beyond boring and more stretching than anything.
Mike– I bet she could do all that too. Got to keep some tricks up your sleeve.
Thanks for the heads up on the Motion Traxx! I will even forgive that the interval workouts are associated with Fitness mag-good stuff!
