1 ‘old’ exercise with a new twist
Nick Tumminello recently did a fantastic post on the importance of YTWL as a movement as well as a fantastic overview of why. Do your upper body a favor and check it out.

1 last chance to ask a question for Tom Venuto on The Fitcast
That is right, Tom is going to be on the next Fitcast. If you have any questions for him make sure to send them over to Kevin and let him know.

3 Books I just finished listening to
Since I have a lot of new long drives going on it is giving me a chance to catch up on new material. Here are just a few I recently finished.
Seth Godin – Tribes (Again)
Mark Kurlansky – The food of younger land
David Sedaris – When you are engulfed in flames
3 Goals I have before the end of this year
Do freestanding handstand push-ups again
Be able to eat almonds again. I miss almonds. (braces)
Head down to St. Lucia for a week in the winter with family and friends
1 edit that had to happen because this is saddest excuse for a news story ever
The Cankle Crisis (via Nick Bromberg)
1 awesome 80′s soundtrack song to pump you up in the greatest of cheesy ways. Complete with dramatic head turn.
Chaz Jankel – Number One

What movie is that song from?! I know it but it is going to make me crazy!
Those are some pretty good goals for the year!
Jeanne - It’s from Real Genius
Sinead – Thank you. By the way I made an edit in the post and I just want to make sure you don’t miss it because it might be the most important thing I have ever put on my blog.
My favorite part is how Miley Cyrus discussed her struggle about it via her Biography.
I love the goals, I can empathize with the almonds since I had braces for 3 years. I admit to checking to see if I have cankles as I watched the “crisis”.
Seriously? Emotional distress because of cankles? Dude, I’d like to live your life then (crazy lady in the video!) if cankles are your biggest concern!
Once again Nick brings us the ridiculous from the world of news. Thanks, Nick! (and I miss him, by the way!)
Wow that video is priceless. Um I love that the host was doing squats in heels.
I’d have years of emotional distress if I spent 4 grand on a silly procedure like that.
Between 4 and 8 thousand bucks to be cankle-less? And I thought I had issues!!! That is really sad.. but the plastic surgeons are laughing all the way to the bank.
Leigh, I really hope that you are able to do that freestanding handstand pushup, while eating almonds, in St. Lucia as you amaze and wow all your family and friends!!! Great goals and you will make em!!
Oh and BTW, I never saw you answer my question about the elliptical that I had on the Gowear article – is it a waste of time? Would I do better with an Airdyne?
That video….for f**k’s sake. I agree with you, Sinead. If THAT is the source of your “emotional distress”, then….
That song, on the other hand, completely rocked out and deserves full props for its greatness. Cue dramatic head turn!
On a recent long drive, I listened to the audiobook “How to Be Single” (by same author who wrote “He’s Just Not that Into You.” Fluffy chicklit very ala Sex in the City, but good if you want something brainless and funny.
