1. Guitar

If I don’t get a daily dose of playing my guitar, even for 5 minutes, I am not the same person. Currently working on an extremely awesome cover of Blackstreet – No Diggity.

2. Feet
I feel the same way about my guitar as I do about dance. While I have never taken either to the level of classes or formal training, getting in a daily movement is a must for my happiness level.

3. TRX
No matter where the day takes me, I can always get my training in. A body, a TRX, and somewhere to hook up is all I need. Training is a love and lifestyle. It isn’t a means to fat loss, not if you love it.

4. Pubmed
I don’t really read a lot of news sites. Personally, I find it to be information overload and only versions of the real truth taking place. Trying to look for truth in news is like trying to find innocence in a strip club, it doesn’t exist. I get my truth from the source and the real studies themselves. From there I can see the flaws, the virtues and the humanity.

5. ipod
I rarely go anywhere without my ipod. It’s literally a gateway to education and fills the gaps of time with everything I could want. People ask me – “How can you possibly learn, read, and listen to as much as you do?” No matter where I go, the knowledge and entertainment comes with me, that’s how. I listen to tons of albums, books, and self-made education every week. What used to be hours of empty time, I now have filled with new ways to enjoy more in life. Sure, I may have serious withdraw if I end up on a powerless island, but think of all the music and stories I will have to keep me company!

6. Thoreau
Henry David Thoreau was a lover of man, animals, music, and life. I never enjoyed that question – “Who would you meet, dead or alive?” because it holds so many failures, expectations, and pedestals. That being said, if I had to answer the question, I would like to hang out with Thoreau. He was ahead of his time in so many ways – it isn’t even describable. Everyday I try to read his words and it brings me peace because alive or not, someone gets it.

“What’s the use of a fine house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?”

“When I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest.”

“Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other’s eyes for an instant?”

“Our life is frittered away by detail … simplify, simplify.”

“The greatest compliment that was ever paid me was when one asked me what I thought, and attended to my answer.”

“Wealth is the ability to fully experience life.”

7. Laptop

I know my items are full of some mechanical adventures, and that seems to contradict certain things, especially my love for Thoreau. That being said, I am a seeker of knowledge and love people. Had Thoreau been around he may have first condemned the internet, and then reveled in the possibility of connecting with people across the world in ways that land locking can hinder. I love the education and closeness that treating technology right can bring.

8. Education

Everyday I learn something new. I learn something new about myself, science, the body, people, or the mind. It’s intoxicating to realize what is possible if you reach for it. With true education you must face fear and press through the boundaries of comfort. I could never leave my work at work, because my work is my life and my life, is learning.

9. The Stick/Foam Roller
It’s a painful little f**k, but it gets the job done. Basically what this represents is any form of Self-Myofascial Release. As some of you know recently I have been dealing with my body being an ass. My fascia has reverted to that of someone twice my age with RA. In order to keep mobile and reduce the pain I have increased my use. While science hasn’t caught up with real world research, I have no problem saying release work is important to everyone’s lives.

10. Lucy Cookies

I don’t really have any legitimate reason for sharing these cookies. They just taste really good and don’t upset my stomach.

11. Daily Supps
I am working on a “mixture” if you will and have almost completed research into what I think will be the best thing to take to help get better. In the meantime, I always make sure to get in my daily supplements. Nothing too crazy or out there, but you are welcome to look at the list.

These supplements are more specific towards sensitive systems and are all vegetarian. I didn’t use to take all these supplements and am just now trying some of them out. They are all proving to be delicate on the system and do not make me sick. I am also a member of Consumerlabs.com and take caution to use reputable companies who have done well in independent testing. I will layout my dosages and continue on this in another post at a later date when discussing my treatment.

Multi-Vitamin – TwinLabs Allergy Free Multi
Vitamin D3 - Carlson’s D3 2000
Ester CSolgar Vitamin C
Cal/Mag - Twinlabs Cal/Mag
Veg EFA Liquid - Health Sun Veg EFA’s

12. Pandora/Last FM
I still lean towards Pandora as my favorite, but I like Last FM too. Every so often one of these stations will pop up something that becomes a new love or obsession. This week I give thanks for the following songs.

13. LiveWell360 Bag
I love my core bag. I put my training gear in it and I even put my laptop in this thing. It’s comfortable, it’s roomy and my peeps made it. What more could I need? Get you one.

14. Facebook
I don’t get a chance to pop on as much as I would like, but when I do I am always happily surprised with the clips, comments, and general get-to-know-ya information I find. Add me >>> http://www.facebook.com/leighpeele

15. Ask Leigh Forums
I have never seen a private forum so supportive as this one. The logs are awesome to read, there is always someone willing to lend a hand to others, and you have me to answer your questions. What more do you want? Join it!

16. YouTube
Where else are you going to find this?

Reggie Watts is a most unusual talent: a huge vocal range, a natural musicality, and a sidesplitting wit. Is he a comedian? A singer? A performance artist? I’ve seen him a few times since then and I still can’t decide. Whatever, he ain’t like nobody else.” – Brian Eno

Check out these tips from Valerie Waters and Bill Hartman.

Killer circuit from Kevin. As always, remember you can base your intensity level and speed on your goals. Smart does not have to be boring.

17. DVR
Thank you DVR. I never dealt with the complications of running a VCR and dealing with tapes. I am a minimalist in that sense. Since you came into my life I can collect shows to watch. If it wasn’t for you there would be no So You Think You Can Dance or fist pumping.

18. The Things That Should Go Without Saying
Yeah, that.
