One of the top searches bringing people into this blog is “Leigh Peele Pics.” I also get accused of not being real, being extremely fat, and being a man. I just think people aren’t paying attention enough. I feel I have addressed this before, but here it is again. I also get a lot of questions about clients, who and where I train, where I have been published, etc. So, I decided to update my “about me” page. If this isn’t good enough, then you can also add me to your facebook. I try to keep friends and pictures private because people I don’t know (and motives I can’t always trust) have access to those things. I haven’t had the best of luck in that area so I sit on the side of caution with these things. That being said, there are a bunch of pictures in there, I just think people don’t know how to use facebook. It’s called a photo album people.

I will be announcing more about the consults soon as well, but I will say I am making a huge transition in my career for the next 6-12 months. From there, we will see. In the meantime, I hope this gives you a little more to chew on.  I even threw in a FAQ list at the end. These are the top questions people send me through email about what I do.

About Me Page Intro

I think to some degree you have to possess a bit of narcissism to have a truly excellent “about me” page. I don’t know if I am 100% there yet, but I do keep looking in the mirror and thinking “Wow, you are awesome.” In a nutshell, this about me page is going to attempt to give you a brief understanding of who I am. It may come across as an unabridged facebook description, but so be it.

My name is Leigh Peele. I was born in this world in the middle of the night in a small city of North Carolina. I am convinced it was the start of my being a perpetual night owl. At some point, I went to school and it didn’t agree with me very well. Technically, I have certifications (e.g. Certified by the NASM) and paper credentials I need to do this job on a legit level. It should be stated you aren’t going to find me at any alumni parties bragging about the letters after my name. I am a self-educator and have had the blessing of being able to work with the best in the health and fitness industry. I continue you utilize those resources to this day. I am forever learning and forever grateful to the opportunity I have. Let’s be honest, I get paid to help make peoples dreams come true and change lives, this is hardly a tough gig.

I am not what you think of as a normal trainer. I don’t overuse hair gel and you will never, ever, see me in spandex. I would rather go to SXSW than the Arnold Expo. I realize there is a distaste against me for that, but such is life. It doesn’t mean I can’t get you leaner than you ever thought possible or stronger than you have ever been. I just want to do it listening to Patti Smith and wearing cotton.

FAQ Questions that invade Leigh’s Privacy

1. How old are you? You look so young but you seem so wise. (Sarcasm)

I am 28. I will be 29 in March.

2. Have you always lived in NC?

I have lived in various parts of NC, but yes I have always lived here. I like it in NC and while I will enjoy more travel, I would be surprised if I ever called somewhere else home.

3. What is your current training program? Are you fat?

Right now, I am doing a lot of Olympic Ring work and dancing. It is basically for fun and to keep up my physical strength.

I keep delaying the inevitable need to lose my bit of fat. Not because I can’t, but because I am lazy and procrastinating it. However, I am not unhealthy in weight in anyway or largely overweight. I do practice what I preach and take care of myself. There is a huge difference. I am “normal” by average standards, just not lean like I should be for the standards of this industry and what I do. Ask me how much I care right now? I don’t really, but soon I wont have a choice and yes, you more than likely are going to see some form of ab shots. I also have the best ghetto booty a white girl can posses.

This has been a very hard year of work for me. I also, privately, have dealt with a few aggravating health and mobility issues. I am 100% fine, but being super lean sometimes isn’t our life’s main focus. That being said, it is important to me and will be on the front burner soon. It doesn’t in anyway undermine my ability to do what I do, and anyone who says otherwise, I welcome them to a meeting of the minds.

4. What kinds of foods do you eat? Do you practice clean eating?

My food philosophy is to eat for what food does for you. Generally, I get lots of protein, fruits, and veggies. However, I am not afraid of eating pizza and eat it quite often. I eat grains, pasta, and rice. I mix carbs with fats, and I even have a candy bar every now and again. I will do that when I am getting to 16% body fat by the way. It won’t change.

5.  Do you claim yourself to any group (e.g. Paleo, vegan, raw)?

No. However, I support the decision people make to do whatever they want.

6. Do you hate these groups (e.g. Paleo, vegan, raw)?

Not at all. In fact, I was once vegetarian and have many friends who are into Paleo, vegan, and raw lifestyles. The only reason people assume anger or aggression towards those groups from me is because of my analyzing of the facts and research that comes up in these groups. I don’t believe in following a path out of false pretense. I will not agree to non-evidence support fear tactics or intimidation techniques, no matter what the cause. Even if it is one I support. So, because of this you may see me in intellectual debates on the topic, but that is all.

7. Are you still doing bootcamps in your area/how can I join?

I am not currently doing bootcamps and wont likely be for the next year. I will more than likely be doing them in the future though.

8. I am a former in-person client, can I become a future online client?

I will be discussing how/if I am taking on clients in a coming up post. Short answer is of course, in person clients can become online clients or do consults.

9. Why aren’t there more pictures of you online?

One, I don’t photograph well. Seriously. I am not one of those people who can just wake up, snap a shot, and what you get is facebook worthy. I have bad, bad camera moments. On the flip side, I don’t want to be that chick that is cuter in her pictures than in real life, not fun. Basically, I like the interaction of real life and am growing to deal with the fact that pictures and video is a must in this online life. Give me some time, I will get there.

10. Are you and Kevin Larrabee ever going to hook-up?

I had to put this question because I get it almost as much as I get questions about that internet fights between me and an unnamed guru. I wont answer it, just like I am not going to answer the other question,  because I can. BWAHAHA.
